I havent blogged in awhile, eight months to be exact but I feel its fitting now to post these. Without going into great details this blog is now asking me for money to post so I am trying to build a website so I can continue blogging. Anyways for the past three day have been intense, juggling many things at once is hard ( don’t know how you women do that on a daily basis). But one thing that has happened is I have watched a friend go though issues and question them as they happen (by no means are these issues as dramatic as they may seem). We have had long debates about life and the “way of life ” and the life we should live and it is funny how certain situations push us to either do things we have not done in a while or even do things we have never done. Ars Gratia Artis-“Art for Art sake” is a phrase I stumbled across a couple days ago and find it appropriate for now, simple because the person here by knowing whats on her CV by no means seems the artistic type but surrounds herself with it so much so that she arts for art sake. He is a friend I hold close, so much soul nicole.
Firstly I must admit I have been lazy and busy why I havent added anything on my blog for months… For this I am sorry
Sharing a little of Henry
Now I saw Adele’s music video (who is my to be wife) which was released yesterday 29th September 2011. Really like videos like this and it suits her. Now the reason I am even blogging about this video is because I had done one of myself and well this song hit home for me. Without going into too much details this song connected with me. I didnt show much people simply because after doing the video I thought it might have made me look like what I am not (more politically correct way of putting it) I hadnt changed the lyrics to put it in my terms and well I basically played the part of Adele (before I even saw her video).
Life goes on and well I have learnt not to hold anything against anyone…. “You live when you have leart… and you learn once you have lived”
Thanks to Stef Cameron my 15yr old cousin who filmed this we spent a lot of time in the living room doing absolutely nothing.
Just a few more playful shots I did with Leo the same day I also did these shots These like everything I do were ver spontaneous and “right then it came to me”
Last year September I was asked to film the Cosy Showfor friends of a friends its was suppose to be straight “biz” nothing else. I really didnt want to do it but I only did because well August would of made it 6 month since I last worked a 9-5 (so yours truly was what you would say in a delicate way BROKE). My first show I was a bit anxious partly because i didnt know what to expect. At the time I had only known of one of the two guys that put the show on, Semo. Matthew the other guy seemed a bit of a panicky prat cause all he did was run around to confirm everything was good (which I later confirmed he actually was, naw am playing)
10 months down the line on Cosy Shows Birthday I have to give alot of respect to both guys especially Matthew, by far two of the most hardest and dedicated men I know in this country (yes I am still saying my visit to England is still just a visit I just decided while I am here I would go to university). Working with them has been a pleasure and they never hesitate to show there appreciation (I still have the New Years and Christmas card from them that I received my January pay from them). It is clear to who ever knows me for Cosy that Cosy is not my job, it has slowly taken over my life I dont just think of it every first tuesday of the month.
Here are a few clips of whats been happening at the cosy show
I asked by a good friend of mine to come down and watch a designer do a shoot, “Her name is Mona Mi” i was told. Went because of who invited me. Very enthusiastic and charismatic person that without a doubt seems to love what she does. I didnt use any pictures of her complete face simply because a couple days later I did a shoot of her with as the model for another designer she is close with. But for now viewers meet Mona Mi.
YOTP (Year Of The Poet) first saw G.R.E.Ed.S on youtube and thought he was really good and his video was shot really well. The poem didn’t stand out to me at first (that could simply be because I was more captivated the visuals). A month or so later he was invited to perform at the Cosy Show (which I am embarrassed to say I don’t post on my blog seeing that I film every show). He came down and blew the audience away including me. For about a week I was speaking to people about him who had the slightest interest in “poetry” and “spoken word”. I did a video which I posted of on my earlier blogs of a poet called LD Henriques.
Surprisingly he got hands on my blog and made the effort to find me and commend me on it. He went further to ask me very humbly of if I would like to work with him, at this time I was laughing because here was someone with clear talent I believed I would be able to reach after the Cosy show sending me a message on facebook about us working “funny how the world works”. Anyways week or so later he asks me to come down to a show to see him perform and maybe record and well let me not explain just click play (which am sure you already did before you read this).
Unorthodox is the only way I can describe Cherry, everything about her screams high fashion wife. A university student who majors in fashion may seem like a child to many but in actuality is an adult to the world. She has lived in more places than she lets off, fluent not just in the obvious English but in Italian and her childish “gypsy” talk. This is not the case when you get to know her. She couldn’t care less what she is seen in but always seems to pull off her attire. A night around the town with her is actually a “guys” night out cause she fits right in. Guaranteed she knows more about football than some guys I’ve met. A real creative person and I can honestly say she is one of the biggest reasons why The H. R. Gallery is running and its not just because she likes to have her photos taken much as I like to take em’.
